Osimhen’s agent arrives for Napoli extension talks
Roberto Calenda, the agent of Victor Osimhen, has arrived at Napoli’s summer training camp in Castel Di Sangro to hold talks with representatives from the club over a contract renewal for his client.
Napoli have already been in close contact with Calenda all summer, as they are hopeful of keeping hold of the 2022-23 Serie A top goalscorer for as long as possible.
First, there were discussions when the team were based in Dimaro earlier in pre-season, and now, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, there will be a new round of talks.
A variety of top clubs around Europe had been linked with a move to sign Osimhen this summer, including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, although Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has remained adamant that he wants to keep the Nigerian international in Naples.
In fact, ADL had insisted that it would take an offer upwards of €150 million just to earn Napoli’s attention.
Osimhen is currently contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2025, where he currently earns around €4.5 million per season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier in the week that Napoli are prepared to offer a new deal worth somewhere between €7 million and €7.5 million annually.
Di Marzio reports that all parties would like for Osimhen to stay on with Napoli.
