Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke Quits PDP Over Escalating Leadership Crisis
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), adding a dramatic new dimension to the deepening turmoil within the opposition party.
In a resignation letter dated November 4, 2025, and addressed to the PDP leadership in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government Area, the governor announced his exit from the party through which he rose to national political prominence.

Adeleke cited the worsening PDP national leadership crisis as the main motivation for his decision, noting that persistent internal conflicts had rendered his continued membership unsustainable.
Expressing appreciation to party leaders, members, and supporters, Adeleke acknowledged the role the PDP played in his political advancement—from his tenure in the Senate to his emergence as Osun State Governor. He described the party as the platform that propelled some of the most significant achievements of his political career.
The resignation marks a major shift in the unfolding political landscape and signals possible realignments ahead of future electoral contests.
