Osun State Loses Philanthropist Prince Tunde Ponnle, UNIOSUN Benefactor Dies at 94
Osun State has been thrown into mourning following the death of Prince Tunde Ponnle, a prominent son of Ada town and respected philanthropist, who passed away in the early hours of Sunday, December 14, at the age of 94.
The news of his death was first shared on Facebook by Babalola Sunday Emmanuel. Prince Ponnle was widely admired for his enduring contributions to education, healthcare, and community development across Osun State.
He served as a member of the Governing Council of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) until May 2023 and was a major benefactor of the institution. The late prince donated several high-value assets to the university, including a multi-million-naira mansion and the MicCom Cancer Centre, which has become an integral part of UNIOSUN’s medical training programme, hosting rural postings for MBBS students.

The university community and residents have extended heartfelt condolences to his family, praying for strength and that the departed soul rests in perfect peace. Details of the burial programme are yet to be released.
