KANO — No fewer than 500 members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from Fagge and Ungogo Local Government Areas of Kano State have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing renewed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and the party’s development-driven agenda.
The defectors were received by the Managing Director of the Hadejia-Jam’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), Engr. Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, who described the move as a clear endorsement of the APC’s policies and vision for Nigeria.
“This wave of defections reflects growing trust in President Tinubu’s leadership and the APC’s progressive direction,” Bichi said.
He assured the new members of full integration into the party, promising that no one would be sidelined. Bichi also highlighted the APC-led government’s strides in food security and economic growth, noting that the River Basin’s modern irrigation initiatives align with Tinubu’s agricultural blueprint.
