Owa-Obokun: Court stops Adeleke from appointing monarch from Haastrup family
An Osun State High Court sitting in Ilesa has restrained Governor Ademola Adeleke and others from appointing Prince Clement Adesuyi, members of the Haastrup Family and any other prince to fill the vacant stool of Owa-Obokun of Ijesa land.
Oba Gabriel Aromolaran joined his ancestors on September 11 after reigning for 42 years.
Subsequently, several ruling families signified interest to occupy the throne, as kingmakers were warming up to screen candidates.
Amid the preparation, Justice Adeyinka Aderibigbe restrained Governor Adeleke (20th respondent), his Chieftaincy Affairs Commissioner, Justice Commissioner and others from appointing a new Owa-Obokun of Ijesa land.
