Terrorists on Sunday evening set ablaze a mother, her daughter-in-law and two children during a fresh attack in Kurya village in the Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
According to Daily Trust, the terrorists invaded the community around 8:30 pm, killed about 12 residents and kidnapped three women during the attack.
One of the deceased persons was a woman who was burned alive together with her daughter-in-law and two children.
Yusuf Garba, a resident of the community said one of the abductees lost her spouse during the attack.
“Among the victims were one woman who was burnt to death along with her daughter-in-law and two children right inside their room,” Yusuf was quoted as saying.
He added that the terrorists later had a shootout with the army.
“We are suspecting they (terrorists) too suffered heavy losses because we saw bloodstains where they parked their motorcycles. But you know they don’t leave their corpses behind,” he added.
