Petrol hits N1,200/litre in Kano, N902 at NNPC stations
The price of petrol in Kano has gone up to N1,200 across some filling stations after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) outlets adjusted pump price to N904 per litre.
Already, the NNPC outlets are currently experiencing long queues but those ready to buy from other filling stations at N1,200 face no hassles.
An NNPCL official at one of the outlets was quoted by Daily Trust as saying they were waiting for directives to begin the sale at the new price.
“We just came this morning (Tuesday) and turned on our machines only to see the adjustment. You can see it for yourself. We are here now waiting for directives to start selling,” he said.

While NNPC outlets have raised their pump price of petrol from N568 to N902, those in Lagos have jacked up theirs to N855 but they have not started selling to people.
The increase in the pump price was said to have been based on a directive from the NNPCL management to all its retail outlets nationwide.
The development came two days after the NNPC admitted it was facing challenges importing fuel due to a $6bn debt.
