Pharmacist bags life sentence for Sodomising 12-year-old boy
Abubakar Mustapha Danraka, a former chief pharmacist at the National Hospital in Abuja, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Abuja high court for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy.
Danraka, an indigene of Kaduna State, committed the crime three years ago.
At the time he committed the crime, the pharmacist was also an Imam at a mosque in Spring Valley Estate, his area of residence in Abuja.
He reportedly assaulted the minor at his residence.
According to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) on Tuesday, the court had found Danraka guilty of sodomy before handing him the life sentence.

It was also reported that the underaged victim had gone to check on his friend who happened to be Danraka’s neighbour when he was sexually assaulted.
The victim, while narrating is ordeal, said nobody answered when he knocked on his friend’s door during his visit. As he was about returning to his house, however, Danraka opened the door leading to his own apartment and signalled for him to come in.
The moment he got to the pharmacist’s door, he was grabbed by the hand, led to the living room by the accused, and then offered a glass of water to drink.
After drinking the water, the victim said he began to feel weak and this was when Danraka took advantage of him.
“Not suspecting any foul play, the boy drank the water and began to feel weak. In that state of weakness the suspect overpowered him laid him on a red settee in his sitting room and forced his penis into his (victim)anus,” NAPTIP’s statement partly reads.
“After the suspect was done, he asked him to go home with a stern warning not to mention what had happened to anyone.
“On getting home, his mother scolded him about his whereabouts but noticed her son was uneasy. She took him into the room questioned him and he opened up about what had happened to him.
“The victim said his mother checked his body and saw sperm content and bruises around his anus region.
The boy’s parents promptly rushed him to the hospital where he was admitted, treated and then later discharged on March 26.
While he was in NAPTIP’s custody, the pharmacist denied the incident. However, an investigation carried out by the agency later confirmed the victim’s account of the incident.
