Police arrest eight suspects over killing of 150 Plateau villagers
The Plateau State Police Command says its men have arrested eight suspects in connection with the recent killings in the villages of Bokkos and Barkin Ladi local government areas of the state.
More than 150 people were confirmed killed in attacks.
About 23 villages in Bokkos alone were attacked on the Eve of Christmas and hundreds of houses razed down.
DSP Alfred Alabo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, disclosed the arrests in Jos on Friday, stating that efforts were being made to apprehend more suspects.
Security agencies including, Army, Air Force, Navy and the police had after the killings vowed to bring an end to the attacks and counter attacks between farming communities and pastoralists.
Despite the deployment of security agencies in the affected communities, more killings are being recorded in the state.
