Police arrest four gunrunners in Delta
Delta State Police Command have arrested four men who manufacture and supply guns to armed robbers and kidnappers.
The command’s image maker, SP Bright Edafe, in a statement, yesterday, identified the suspects as Tega Dierunaba, Chibiuke Anuforo Cosmas and Sunday Moses Pam and Goodluck Sakutu.
He said the arrest followed an investigation after the recovery of a fabricated AK 47 revolver rifle from a suspect.
Edafe said a police team stormed the hideout of the criminals in Enerhen and arrested the suspects.
According to the statement, one of the suspects, Pam, conveyed the arms from Plateau State to Delta.
He said suspects had admitted to committing the crime after Sakutu, 38, of Ekpan Community in Uvwie Local Government Area confessed.
He said suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

The statement reads: “Following an intensive intelligence-led investigation by operatives on CP’s special assignment with base in Ughelli related to the earlier recovery of a fabricated AK 47 revolver rifle recovered on June 82024, the team led by ASP Julius Robinson acting on the firm directive of the commissioner of Police Delta State CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, on 16/7/2024, between the hours of 1300hrs to 1935 hours arrested them.
“They are: Tega Dierunaba, male, 44 years of Orerokpe Community in Okpe LGA Delta State, a resident of Enehren area of Warri Town, Chibiuke Anuforo Cosmas m”ale, 42years, of Orlu Town in Nkwerre LGA, Imo State, a resident of Musheshe Cold-Room Industrial Area, Enehren Road Warri, a distributor of arms supplied and Sunday Moses Pam, male, 36 years, of Von Community in Jos South LGA Plateau State, a resident of Oka Closed Street, in Enehren, Warri Delta State, who usually conceal and convey the arms from Plateau to Delta State. All suspects have admitted to the crime as confessed earlier by Sakutu, male, 38 years of Ekpan Community Uvwie LGA Delta State who was earlier arrested and one fabricated AK-47 rifle was recovered from him.
