Police arrest officers who reportedly shot 24-year-old man in Anambra
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested officers involved in the shooting death of 24-year-old Ebuka along the Onitsha/Owerri road on Wednesday, September 4.
The incident has drawn widespread attention, particularly from human rights activists, including Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the tragic news online.
According to Gwamnishu, the officers allegedly fled the scene following the shooting. Ebuka was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and his body has since been deposited at the mortuary.

In response to the incident, Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, ordered the detention of the patrol team members involved.
A statement from the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed that a preliminary investigation indicated that a police corporal was among those on the patrol team.
CP Itam has directed the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka.
He urged the public to remain calm, assuring them that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure justice is served.
