Police arrest ‘one-chance’ gang in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two members of a one-chance gang notorious for operating along the Funsho Williams Avenue area of the state.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Wednesday, said the suspects, Usman Hussani, and Ebuka Ukechukwu, were arrested following a distress call received from a victim who was dispossessed of his phone and other valuables.

He said, “Police operatives attached to Surulere Division have arrested two members of a one-chance gang notorious for operating along Funsho Williams Avenue.

“The suspects, Usman Hussani, 21, and Ebuka Ukechukwu, 25, were arrested following a distress call received from a victim shortly after he was dispossessed of his phone and other valuables.

“Recovered from the suspects are two mobile phones, two SIM cards, one Sterling Bank ATM card, one UBA cheque booklet belonging to Ugochukwu (other names withheld), and one brand new tricycle with number plate LSD 360 QN used by the gang.

“Suspects will be arraigned once investigations are concluded.

“The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, hereby encourages residents of the state to always remain vigilant, especially when boarding public vehicles.”
