Police arrest suspected kidnapper while collecting ransom in Adamawa

The police in Adamawa State have arrested a 32-year-old man, Roland Raymond, in connection with the offence of criminal intimidation associated with kidnapping.

The suspect, a resident of Detti village, Ganye LGA, was reportedly picked up at the point of collecting ransom of kidnapping intent.

Adamawa State Police Command said the arrest of the suspect followed a report by Alhaji Yahya Congo and Abraham Paul, who claimed Raymond called them on the phone demanding the sum of N600,000 or risk being kidnapped.

Upon receipt of the complaints, the police in Ganye Division, in collaboration with hunters, swiftly mobilised and arrested the suspect at the point of collecting the demanded money.

Spokesperson for the command said the suspect would be charged to court after investigation.
