Police Arrest Tenant Over Killing of 38-Year-Old Landlady in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested a tenant in connection with the alleged killing of his 38-year-old landlady in Gombe State, sparking shock and concern within the local community.

Police sources said the suspect was taken into custody following a report of a violent incident at the victim’s residence. The landlady was reportedly found unconscious with serious injuries and was later confirmed dead by medical personnel.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident followed a dispute between the tenant and the landlady, though authorities said the exact circumstances surrounding the altercation are still under investigation. The police noted that the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended shortly after the incident.

The Commissioner of Police in Gombe State, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso assured residents that a thorough investigation is underway to establish the full details and motive behind the killing. The suspect is currently being detained and is expected to be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

The police also urged the public to seek peaceful means of resolving disputes, particularly between landlords and tenants, while reaffirming their commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
