Police bust alleged baby factory in Ondo, rescue pregnant teenagers
The Ondo State Police Command has uncovered a suspected baby factory in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of one Ada Clement and the rescue of five pregnant underage girls and a baby boy.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, noting that the facility was allegedly used for human trafficking and illegal child sales.
The case came to light on October 21, 2025, when a 17-year-old girl, Vivian Peter, from Ikot Ekpan in Akwa Ibom State, reported to the Ore Division that she had been trafficked under the guise of a job offer. Upon arrival in Ore, she was taken to a supposed clinic, which turned out to be a baby factory.

“She revealed that she met other pregnant girls being held for exploitation. The owner of the facility, Ada Clement, later instructed that she be taken to another hospital for a scan. However, she managed to escape and reported the incident to the police,” Ayanlade said.
Following the report, operatives from the Ore Division, in collaboration with the Gender-Based Violence Unit, raided the facility and rescued the victims. One of the girls had already delivered and is receiving post-natal care at the General Hospital, Ore, while the others are in protective custody.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the babies were allegedly sold for N400,000 and above for female children, and N600,000 and above for male children. The suspect and her accomplices reportedly confessed to operating the facility as a baby factory.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebowale Lawal, has ordered a full-scale investigation to dismantle the trafficking network and ensure all those involved are brought to justice.
