Police foil smuggling of four Nigerian women, three children in Libya
Police have arrested a driver for attempted smuggling of four Nigerian women and three children in Libya.
The arrest was made during inspection at the Ashkada-Sabha Triangle Gate on Monday, May 19, 2025.
The individuals have been transferred to Al-Shatti Security Directorate for further legal action.

“Police during inspection at the Ashkada-Sabha Triangle Gate thwarted an attempted human smuggling and arrested a Libyan driver (‘Y. A. M. Y.’, born in 1993) who transported 4 undocumented migrant females and 3 children of Nigerian nationality,” the post read.
“During inspection the driver offered a bribe to police officers in an attempt to evade accountability. All transferred to Al-Shatti Security Directorate pending referral to competent judicial authorities.
