Updated: Ajaero back at NLC after honouring police invitation, says labour won’t compromise
President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, has returned to his office at the Labour House after reporting at the headquarters of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) in Abuja on Thursday.
He spent about one hour with operatives led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police.
He described the labour movement as the most patriotic organisation in the country and pledged that the union would not compromise its patriotism no matter the challenges.
He said he was back to continue the struggle of demanding better welfare for the Nigerian workers, saying “we will not listen to any distraction”.
Ajaero who arrived at exactly 10:17am, left at 11.17am after writing his statement at the IRT headquarters.

The police last week invited Ajaero to the IRT headquarters on August 20 by 10am to answer questions on alleged involvement in terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony.
The NLC president could not make it due to already scheduled obligations but promised to honour the invitation today.
He was accompanied to the IRT headquarters by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Mr Femi Falana, activist, Mr Deji Adeyanju, Marshal Abubakar, and top officials of the NLC.
