Police inspector commits suicide in Lagos
A tragic incident has been reported involving a Police Inspector attached to the OPG Head Office in Ikeja, Lagos, who allegedly took his life on Friday, October 18.
According to an exclusive report by The SUPREME, a security-focused portal, the Inspector, whose name remains undisclosed, was found hanged at his residence in the Iteswaju CDA area off Eri Road, Isiwu, in Ikorodu.
The report reveals that the Inspector’s son discovered his father’s body and reported the incident at the Imota Police Station around 2 p.m. that day. The circumstances surrounding the officer’s decision remain unclear, but the news has sparked sadness and concern within the community.

“The son was said to have informed the police that, his later father sent him out on an errand, and as he returned he saw his father hanging on a ceiling fan. He was said to have called his father, but his father did not respond, and it dawned on him that his father has committed suicide,” The SUPREME reported.
It disclosed that “Police detectives led by a DSP (names withheld) were said to have visited the residence of the late Inspector, where they removed his corpse to a mortuary for an autopsy.”
Police authorities are yet to comment on the incident.
