Police kill six bandits in Bauchi
Six persons suspected to be bandit wreaking havoc across swathes of land in northern Nigeria have been killed, the police in Bauchi State have disclosed.
The criminals were gunned down during a gun battle with police operatives in Ningi Local Government Area of the northeast State.
Commissioner of Police Auwal Mohammed made the disclosure while briefing journalists at a press conference held at the headquarters of the command on Friday.
According to him, multiple firearms, including AK-49 rifles, a Dane gun, and various locally fabricated weapons were recovered during the operation.

The police also recovered one locally made single-barrel gun, 14 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and three magazines from the suspects.
Mohammed said the bandits were killed in a gunfight with Ningi Division operatives, who were supported by local security personnel.
In another incident, the police recovered two AK-47 rifles from a 42-year-old suspect, Abdullahi Ibrahim, who confessed to purchasing the weapons from his uncle for N250,000, to protect their cattle.
Alongside the firearms, 343 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and a magazine were also seized.
