Police parade ex-DSS man, nine others over bullion van robbery

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Janet Agbede, yesterday paraded 10 suspected members of an armed robbery gang that specialised in attacking bullion vans.

A dismissed offical of Department of State Services (DSS), Prosper Israel, Adesoji Adeniyi and eight others were said to have, on July 26,  attacked a bullion van at  Ntigha Junction in the Isiala Ngwa North council area of the state.

The ex-DSS personnel was nabbed with his younger brother said to be also a member of the robbery gang.

It was gathered that the group was also behind other attacks on bullion vans in Imo states and other parts of the country.

Police said they recovered many guns and ammunition in addition to N10,184,900 cash.

CP Agbede said the paraded suspects were members of a 14-man armed robbery gang.
