Police recover body of Delta site engineer killed, buried by employees
The Delta State Police Command has recovered the body of a site engineer, Chigozie Udalor, who was allegedly murdered and buried in a shallow grave by his employees.
According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the incident occurred on December 10, 2024.
Udalor, who was supervising a construction project for his cousin, had hired four young men from Benue State to work at the site.
However, they reportedly conspired against him, attacked him with a hammer, and fatally struck his head.
In an attempt to cover up their crime, the suspects buried his body in a shallow grave at the construction site.
Edafe said: “A 38-year-old site engineer, Chigozie Udalor, was employed by his cousin and later hired four workers, all from Benue State. On December 10, 2024, they conspired and murdered him at the site, using a hammer to strike his head before burying him in a shallow grave.”
The police exhumed Udalor’s remains on April 2, 2025, following the arrest of two of the suspects, while efforts to apprehend the remaining culprits are ongoing.
