Police Slap, Arrest Lawyer Who Challenged Officer for Driving Against Traffic in Lagos

Police attached to the Lagos State Area C Command have arrested Ridwan Oke, a lawyer.

A source told FIJ that Oke had accosted a police vehicle that violated traffic regulations by journeying against traffic on a one-way lane in the Ebutte-Meta area of the state on Tuesday.

“He is our lawyer,” the source said. “What he did was that he questioned the officers for breaking the law, but they slapped him and then arrested him.”

FIJ sent a message to Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, but as of press time, he was yet to respond.

FIJ’s efforts to reach Oke also proved abortive as of press time.
