Police uncover plot to cause mayhem during Eid El-Fitr in Kano
The Kano State Police Command has announced the discovery of individuals concealing their identities under certain Islamic sects to instigate violence during the Eid el-Fitr festival.
The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel, disclosed this information during a meeting with Islamic clerics and representatives from the five emirate councils on Monday. He assured that the police have taken swift action against criminals who disguise themselves among law-abiding citizens to cause harm before, during, and after the Eid el-Fitr celebrations.
Commissioner Gumel highlighted Kano as the only state where none of its citizens were held captive by kidnappers or bandits, attributing this achievement to the vigilance of security agencies.
