Police warns mischief makers, increases surveillance around INEC facilities

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Umar Mamman Sanda, has directed the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and their supervisory Area Commanders, to immediately ensure deployment of officers in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices to ensure a hitch-free political process in the state.

He also warned mischief makers to stay away from the state just as he ordered a clampdown on miscreants around INEC facilities.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, disclosed these to newsmen on Sunday in Bauchi.

He said that the deployment was aimed at keeping an eye on INEC materials in and around INEC facilities for surveillance operations to check criminal activities and prevent any attempt to undermine security around INEC facilities as well as coordinate a timely response to distress calls.

Wakil further disclosed that the CP ordered a total clampdown and prosecution of miscreants found around the INEC facilities.

He further warned political thugs across the state to steer clear and turn away from INEC facilities/materials as the command would not hesitate to decisively deal with any erring persons who decide to dare this warning.

Wakil said the command called on parents, guardians and leaders wielding various degrees of influence to prevail on their wards and proteges against being used as cannon fodders in destroying national critical infrastructure.
