Policeman, LASTMA official land in hospital for confronting military men who drove against traffic

Two bus drivers wearing military camouflage have been accused of beating Ben Thompson, a police inspector, and Caleb Akerele, an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, on the Eko Bridge on Wednesday.

The security men who were later transported to the hospital made an attempt to confront the military men, reportedly transporting people in commercial buses on a one-way route from Costain to Ijora Olopa.

Confirming the development,  LASTMA spokesperson, Taofeek Adebayo,  said the military officers have been apprehended.

“Two commercial buses fully loaded with passengers were driving one-way from Costain to Ijora Olopa and they were challenged by a policeman and a LASTMA officer, who asked them why there were plying one-way,” he said.
