A video scene by the NPO Reports showed that Helen was knocked down by a driver who was said ti have driven against traffic in Benin hitting her in the process.

In the video shared by one X user, Chief Azuma, with the handle @efewonyi, it was reported that after she was knocked down, she was taken to four different hospitals the last of which demanded N1.5m before she gets treatment.

She therefore retired to her residence with the leg bandaged just asking for help of Nigerians. Undergoing native treatment at home, the man who shared her video promised to support her with a sum of N500,000.

He also called on Governor Godwin Obaseki to come to the aid of Helen while urging President Bola Tinubu to put in place a better welfare package for the police asking, “How will a policewoman be injured and she is abandoned this way.”

He also called popular Afrobeat star, Asake, who used her voice in the “Epp me Epp me” video in one of his songs to come to Helen’s aid.

Helen became popular after she was asked to take a car user to the police station after being arrested for a traffic offence.

The car owner had, rather than go to the police station, decided to drive her away forcing Helen to cry for help screaming as she struggled with the car owner, “help me help me, e de carry me go where I no know oooooo.”

He also shared an account number said to belong to her daughter where Nigerians could pay money to assist her. The account number is Wema Bank Omorogbe Favour Itohan 027119047.
