Poll names three best Tinubu’s ministers, after one year

According to a poll conducted by TV360 Nigeria and Datahome, a research and communication firm, three members of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet were named greatest performers in the first year of their respective administrations.

This assessment highlights the top 3 performing ministers whose contributions have stood out, reflecting their unwavering commitment to President Tinubu’s vision and the nation’s development.

These ministers have successfully implemented transformative initiatives that have yielded measurable results.

Out of the 45 ministers the president appointed in August 2024, these 3 have managed to stand out.

Without a doubt, each of the three ministers has been extremely productive and influential in their own role. After years of cumbersome red tape, Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo simplified the process of obtaining an international passport.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of the Interior, was named the best performing minister thus far by 29.6% of respondents in the one-week online survey. David Umahi, the Minister of Works, comes in second with 11.1%. Third place (10.2%) went to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.`

The process’s notoriously lengthy wait times are now history. Passports will soon be sent directly to people’s homes by the Nigerian Immigration Service. The National Identity Number (NIN) registration process, which was formerly a living nightmare, has also been streamlined as part of the reform.

Thanks to the minister’s introduction new technologies, the whole procedure is now very smooth. Umahi and Wike have both made significant contributions throughout their time in power. In his role as Minister of Works, Umahi set a new record for the speed and scope of repairs on Lagos’s Third Mainland Bridge.

The bridge is a breathtaking sight in its current state. The minister is also in charge of the massive 700-kilometer coastal highway project that will connect Lagos and Calabar. Almost all of the project’s worries have been addressed thanks to his outstanding handling of the project thus far. Several road projects across the nation are also occupying his time. Plus, he has proven to have extensive expertise in his field. ‘Mr. Project’ is an apt description of FCT Minister Wike. In a manner rarely seen for a long time, he is changing the face of  Abuja.

His infrastructure initiatives reach every corner of the nation’s capital, even the historically underserved rural areas of the nation’s capital. Among his many accomplishments is the rehabilitation of the  Abuja metro line as well as the building of several new roads and buildings.

What are your thoughts on his performance?
