Proposed 2027 coalition against Tinubu is hallucination – Presidency
The Presidency on Wednesday dismissed growing speculation about an emerging political coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, branding the narrative a “political hallucination.”
Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, addressed the rumours in a post on his verified X account.
He wrote: “To say a political coalition is surging when in fact no one is interested in it is a political hallucination.”
Bwala stated that key political players and institutions have distanced themselves from any such alliance.

“The Governors’ Forum of PDP said they are not interested, the NWC of PDP said same. Peter Obi recently said he is not in any coalition talks, Labour Party people said they are not interested,” he wrote.
In contrast to the alleged coalition activity, the Presidency pointed to the growing momentum within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which it claims is attracting major opposition figures, including a former vice presidential candidate of the PDP in the 2023 elections.
“Meanwhile in contrast, the party surging is APC; receiving defectors left, right and centre,” Bwala noted.
The Presidency also reiterated that President Tinubu remains firmly focused on delivering his Renewed Hope Agenda, undistracted by what it described as speculative political manoeuvring.
According to Bwala, the administration remains confident in its nationwide support base and views the political climate as increasingly favourable for its reform-driven governance.
