Youths protesting against police brutality and demanding good governance have taken their campaign to more locations in Lagos.
They blocked strategic roads and areas of government and business operations in Alausa, Ikeja, Yaba abd Apapa-Oshodi expreeway around Isolo, among others for hours.
The protesting youths shut the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa in the early hours of Monday and prevented workers from gaining access into the offices.
They locked all the entrance to the secretariat and motorists and pedestrians were turned back from going into the premises.
The governor’s road has been a major venue where the protesters gather everyday for the protest.
It was total gridlock on Apapa-Oshodi expressway around Ilasa to Isolo; no vehicular movement as the protesters blocked the road at Isolo Junction. Passengers inside commercial vehicles had to go down and resorted to trekking.
The situation was not different at Sabo, Yaba and Ojuelegba. Many motorists were trapped in the gridlock.
Meanwhile, some policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad were attacked at the Adekunle area along Herbert Macaulay Road around 10am.
About 19 of 97 RRS officers being taken to their beats were reportedly injured and four police vehicles damaged by the hoodlums.
The Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has condemned the attack.
