Qatar to build 500,000 housing units in Kaduna
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has commended the Embassy of Qatar and the Qatari-owned Sanabil project for their visionary commitment to erecting a monumental economic city and extensive housing estate with 500,000 units in the state.
The initiative is aimed at uplifting the lives of the state’s vulnerable and underserved population.
During the groundbreaking ceremony at Millennium City, Governor Sani said, “The Economic City will establish world-class infrastructure, positioning Kaduna as a benchmark for contemporary affordable living. It will offer a secure environment and a conducive atmosphere for thriving business activities.”

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Shehu Lawal, Governor Sani said that the city would facilitate global trade and simultaneously serve as a nurturing platform for local entrepreneurs and traders.
He further said, “Within this dynamic economic city, provisions will be made for the less privileged, encompassing residences for the disadvantaged, clinics, shops, poultry farms, and farmlands catering to both rainy season and irrigation agriculture.”
Governor Sani emphasised that the housing project held profound significance, contributing substantially to the provision of shelter for the poor, underserved and vulnerable communities of Kaduna State.
In his remarks, Qatari Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Ali Bin Ghanem Al-Hajri, commended the governor for his support and cooperation towards the success of the project.
