RCCG suspends two pastors over alleged homosexuality
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has suspended two pastors following allegations of homosexual conduct.
The church’s National Overseer, Sunday Akande, issued a memo dated October 28, 2024, detailing the suspension and ordering a formal investigation.
Addressed to the special assistant to the general overseer of administration, the memo reaffirms that the RCCG does not condone any form of homosexuality, citing doctrinal and biblical principles.
Akande confirmed that the accused pastors have been temporarily relieved of their responsibilities during the investigation, which is expected to conclude within two weeks.
The church assured that the inquiry would be conducted with confidentiality, ensuring “care and integrity” while respecting the privacy of all parties involved.

Leviticus 18:22: “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an bomination.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10: Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality.
