Regina Daniels to Ned Nwoko: ‘Leave me alone, we were never married’
Nollywood star Regina Daniels has told her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, to stop harassing her, insisting that their relationship had no legal basis and was never formalised in any court of law.
In a statement posted on Instagram early Sunday, Regina admitted to using drugs but said that was not the reason for their fallout. She accused Nwoko of trying to isolate her from her loved ones and control every aspect of her life.
“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she wrote. “You rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs’ because you knew it would make a perfect story to distract everyone from the real issue.”
The actress alleged that the lawmaker once seized her phones for weeks to cut her off from her family and friends and repeatedly declared her mentally unstable whenever she tried to leave.
“You want to arrest everyone around me so that I’ll have no one left beside me, no friend, no support, no safe place to turn to,” she said. “Then when I’m completely isolated and broken, I’ll be forced to come back to you because I’ll have nowhere else to go.”

Regina further maintained that she was never legally married to the senator.
“I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us. We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed. Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force,” she stated.
Her outburst follows weeks of public drama after a viral video in which she broke down in tears, lamenting alleged violence in her home.
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing. But in my house, I am a queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence—it’s too much,” she was heard saying in the video posted on October 18.
The crisis took another turn when the police arraigned Regina’s brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, on November 6, following a petition filed by Nwoko. He was charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft, and remanded until he meets his bail conditions.
The controversy has drawn widespread reactions on social media, with fans and industry colleagues expressing concern over Regina’s safety and urging both parties to resolve their issues privately.
