Millions of WhatsApp users globally were unable to send and receive messages this morning due to a glitch.
The outage, which lasted two hours, affected both personal chats as well as group chats.
Users of the popular instant communication application owned by Meta are relieved that it has been restored.
Downdetector, which tracks outages across major internet platforms around the world, confirmed that WhatsApp was not working for millions of users during the down period.
Before the glitch was fixed, WhatsApp assured its users that the problem was being fixed.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages, and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” a spokesperson for the company said.
The users complained that messages, photos, videos and other files were not being sent either in the inbox or in the groups.
Apart from this, the users who were using the desktop version of WhatsApp were also facing problems in connecting the app to the phone.
WhatsApp Beta Info had also confirmed the issue and said that users were facing problems in WhatsApp.
The problem is said to have been reported from multiple countries including Pakistan.
