Veteran journalist, Bisi Olatilo, has said the report of his death as fake news, saying “nothing is wrong with me”.
He was reported by many social media platforms to have died of COVID-19 complications.
But in a video released on Thursday, Olatilo said he is currently receiving treatment in a hospital for an illness he did not disclose.
The 67-year-old, in the video, said doctors were working to see that he would come out of the hospital hale and hearty.
He thanked his pastor and well-wishers for their messages.
He also appreciated his wife, who was shown sitting close to him wearing a face mask, for her support, saying “what can I do without my wife”.
“So here that I am receiving treatment; all the doctors you know in different departments are working to see that this man comes out finally, very well,” Olatilo said.
He also said, “And I thank my father-in-the-Lord, Pastor Wole Oladiyun, who has been ministering and I have five star generals all over the place, even my wife; tell me what can I do without my wife?
“She keeps telling me I have been advertising her 40th year, so this year ‘ademamuje lagbara olorun’; we have marriages to face. And all of those who have been calling us have been expressing good wishes for us.
“Nothing is wrong with me. It is the fake news merchants… tell anyone you know that I am strong, nothing is wrong with me. I just want to rest.”
