Spokesperson for the Rivers Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has confirmed the arrest of a member of the House of Representatives and Atiku Abubakar campaigner, Dr Chinyere Igwe, with $500,000 in Port Harcourt.
Igwe, representing Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, was arrested on Friday during a stop and search operation along Aba Road.

The police spokesperson who confirmed the lawmaker’s arrest, added, “A statement on it will be released soon”.
It was learnt that the lawmaker said the huge funds were meant for electoral success in Rivers State.
The police also reportedly recovered the sharing formula for the money from the suspect.
