Fidelity Bank has disassociated itself from a promo circulating online, “E-Universe Promo”, describing it as fake and illegal.
In a statement on Monday, the bank warned its customers from participating in the scheme.
It described the promo as an illegal investment, noting that none of its agents had anything to do with the scheme.
Fidelity Bank added that anyone who participates in the scheme does so at their own risk.
“Our attention has been drawn to an illegal promo making rounds online called “E-Universe Promo,” the statement reads.
“Neither Fidelity Bank nor any of its agents have any ties to the purported E-Universe Promo.
“We conduct our business promotions in line with the laws of the federation and global banking standards.
“Fidelity Bank does not encourage scams, illegal investments and schemes aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public. Anyone who participates in the said scheme does so at his or her detriment.”
Posting of investment opportunities and job-related scams are common in Nigeria. In January, the Bank of Industry (BoI) had dissociated itself from a recruitment advertisement.
Last week, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) also cautioned job-seekers against online fraudsters posing as its recruitment agents.
