Senator Adebule seeks unity, peaceful coexistence among Nigerians
The Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Idiat Oluranti Adebule, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
The message is coming days after Muslim faithful marked the Eid-el-Fitr celebration and as Christians warm up for the Easter festivity.
In a statement issued to felicitate with Muslims at the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Adebule commended the Muslim Ummah for their devotion, sacrifice and commitment to spiritual renewal.
She described the fasting period as one marked by reflection, discipline and compassion.
She urged adherents of Islam to sustain the virtues of patience, humility, love and generosity imbibed during Ramadan.
She noted that such values are critical to fostering harmony and building a peaceful society.
The lawmaker emphasised that the spirit of Eid-el-Fitr should serve as a rallying point for Nigerians across religious and ethnic divides to strengthen national unity and work collectively towards progress.
Adebule also acknowledged the security and socio-economic challenges confronting the country, but urged citizens not to lose hope.
She called on Nigerians to remain law-abiding, vigilant and supportive of efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability nationwide.
Expressing confidence in the ability of the current administration to tackle the nation’s challenges, she encouraged continued prayers for the country’s peace, progress and prosperity.
The former Deputy Governor of Lagos State further charged leaders at all levels to uphold the principles of good governance, transparency and service, adding that the festive period offers an opportunity for reflection and renewed commitment to justice, fairness and equity.
She wished Muslims well and prayed for blessings, good health and abundant rewards for their sacrifices.
