Seven killed, children missing in fresh Kaduna killing

Seven people have been reportedly killed and four children missing after armed bandits attacked Jema’a Local Government Area in Southern Kaduna.
Two witnesses said the assailants ambushed residents in Ungwan Bido village shortly before dawn on Sunday.
Many residents have fled the village in the wake of the attack.
“They entered the village on motorcycles and killed about seven people,” a villager, Bulus Gyang, said.
“Children are also still missing and we could not yet say for sure whether they were abducted or not.”
Several attempts were made to reach the spokesman for the police in Kaduna, but all efforts in this direction proved abortive.
The southern part of Kaduna has been a hotspot for banditry activities in recent memory.
Despite several assurances by Governor Nasir el-Rufai to contain this banditry activity, the area has continued to experience mayhem.
The rationale behind this latest attack remains unclear.
This has further exacerbated the security situation currently generating general unrest in northern Nigeria
This is coming with the report of the slaughter of 43 rice farmers in Borno State by Book Haram insurgents on Saturday.
