Sex worker stabs barman to death over N200 debt

A 32-year-old sex worker, Riynatu Musa, has been arrested by the police in Yola, Adamawa State, after allegedly killing a barman, Yohanna Musa, during a dispute over a N200 debt.

According to a statement released on Friday by Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson for the Adamawa Police Command, Musa fatally stabbed the victim in the chest.

The incident occurred after Musa, who resides in Mubi South Local Government Area, failed to settle a N200 balance for liquor she had purchased from the deceased.

“She confessed committing the heinous crime by saying she had collected dry gin known as ‘big ben’ and ‘Yahoo’ from the deceased, and promised to pay the following day after paying the sum of N1,500 remaining the balance of N200, before engaging themselves in a fight resulting in her stabbing him with a knife in the chest to death,” the statement read.

The statement further noted that the Commissioner of Police for Adamawa, Dankombo Morris, has directed that a thorough investigation be conducted and reminded the public against taking matters into their own hands.
