Shar’ia Court clears Jigawa commissioner of adultery
Auwal Danladi, the Commissioner of Special Duties in Jigawa State, has been cleared of allegations of adultery with a married woman.
The Shar’ia Court in Jigawa delivered its ruling on Monday, November 18, dismissing the accusations.
The case was brought before the court by Nasiru Buba, the husband of the woman involved, who had accused the commissioner of engaging in an illicit affair with his wife in an uncompleted building.
However, Judge Ibrahim Yola, in his ruling, emphasized the need for a thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies into the matter.

He also cautioned that allegations involving prominent figures should be handled with utmost care to avoid damaging their reputations without proper evidence.
He said, “Following the investigation by the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, the report shows there is no evidence to prove that there was any illicit affair between Auwal Danladi Sankara and Tasleem Baba Nabegu.”
He further stated that the complainant alongside his legal representatives failed to appear before the court to contest the findings by the police on the matter.
“Since the complainant and his lawyers are not present to challenge the submission by the police, I have no choice but to strike out the case,” the judge concluded.
