Many students and lecturers of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, in Kaduna State have been abducted by gunmen who invaded the institution last night.
A student was shot and several others were wounded during the attack, it was learnt.
It was not clear as of press time how many people were kidnapped by the attackers as the news has thrown the whole town and indeed the state into confusion with parents and relations of students and lecturers in the polytechnic rushing to the institution,
This is coming less than two weeks after 14 abducted students of Greenfield University who had spent 40 days in captivity were freed. The abductors had earlier killed five of the kidnapped students.
The students were abducted from the private university in Kaduna State on April 20 after bandits invaded their hostels.
The Kaduna State Government has adopted a policy of not negotiating with kidnappers, saying it encourages more kidnappings.
