Sokoto: Bandits ambush travellers, kidnap monarch, son, 5 others
At least six persons were abducted when suspected bandits attacked travellers along Sokoto/Sabon Birni road in Sokoto State.
The kidnapped victims are Sarkin Gobir of Gatawa district, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, his son and five others.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that special operatives from the Command have gone after the abductors.
Similarly, an elder son of the victim, Alhaji Isa Sarkin Gobir, confirmed the incident.

According to hum, the district head was ambushed at Kwanar Maharba area by Gunnen while travelling from Sokoto to Sabon Birni town, headquarters of Sabon Birni local government area.
He said the bandits on sighting the emir’s vehicle, started shooting guns, forcing the car to a sudden stop.
He further stated that the suspected bandits abducted the district head and his driver who happened to be his biological son.
He, therefore, appealed to the government to do everything possible to ensure the release of the victims.
