Stop posting camp activities on social media, NYSC DG warns Corpers
Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has issued a stern warning to corps members to refrain from posting camp activities on social media. He emphasized that sharing such content violates the scheme’s standing rules and policies.
During a Friday visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun, Ahmed advised corps members to maintain good character and discipline throughout the three-week orientation exercise. He encouraged them to focus on the skills acquisition programme offered in the camp, which aims to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to become self-reliant and successful after their service year.

“The skill acquisition programme aims to make you independent, so you don’t have to rely on white-collar jobs. We are collaborating with stakeholders to provide you with grants. Please take this measure seriously,” Ahmed said.
The D-G assured the corps members of their safety and security, stating that camp officials would never post them to unsafe locations. “You are important to us. Protect yourself against any danger and stay vigilant. Take precautionary measures to ensure your safety,” he added.
Ahmed also advised the corps members to maintain the highest hygiene standards while in camp to prevent diseases, especially cholera. He urged them to be good ambassadors of the NYSC wherever they are posted.
The NYSC State Coordinator in Osun, Mr. Agbor Obim, expressed gratitude to the D-G for his visit and for his care and attention to the corps members.
