Super Eagles Goalkeeper Nwabali Extends Contract With Chippa United

Nigeria Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has signed a new deal with Chippa United, following a long transfer tussle.

The 2023 AFCON star, who was a subject of transfer following his exploits in Cote d’Ivoire, opted to sign a new deal that will see him remain with the Chilli Boys until 2027.

In a statement issued by the club on their X handle (formerly Twitter), the club confirmed the extension, while also adding that the Super Eagles goalkeeper will be the club’s captain ahead of the new Premier Soccer League season.

“We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC,” reads the statement.

“We are incredibly proud of Stanley’s dedication and commitment to the club. His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary, and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead. With this been said, Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season.

“We wish Stanley continued success in his career, both in domestic competitions and on the international stage. We look forward to achieving great things together in the seasons to come.

Nwabali, 28, joined Chippa United from Nigeria Premier Football League side, Katsina United, in 2022 and has made over 30 appearances for the team since then.
