Super Eagles: Marc Brys emerges top candidate to replace Finidi George
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has commenced moves to replace Finidi George, with Belgian coach Marc Brys emerging as a candidate under consideration.
Finidi George announced his resignation as head coach of the Super Eagles last weekend after just two matches in charge of the team.
He endured a difficult start to his campaign as head coach of the three-time African champions after he failed to secure a win against South Africa and Benin Republic in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria were held to 1-1 draw against Bafana Bafana of South Africa before losing 2-1 to Gernot Rohr’s Benin Republic side in Abidjan.
George’s decision to resign was reportedly influenced by the NFF’s plan to hire a foreign technical adviser for the team after the two games.
Brys was appointed by the Cameroonian government but has had a strained relationship with Samuel Eto’o, the current president of FECAFOOT.
The Belgian coach was fired by Eto’o last month but was reinstated just days before the World Cup qualifiers against Angola and Cape Verde.
