Supreme Court okays Uzodimma as Imo governor

The Supreme Court on Friday upheld the re-election of Hope Uzodimma as the governor of Imo State in the November 11, 2023 election.

A five-member panel of the apex court stated this a lead judgment delivered by Justice Mohammed Idris.

The apex court dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, for lack of merit.

Justice Idris resolved all the issues raised for determination in the appeal against the appellants.

He also dismissed the appeal by the Labour Party and its candidate, Athan Achonu.
