Take urgent measures to return farmers to farmlands, group tells Tinubu
The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International—Nigeria (FGBMFI-NG) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implement urgent measures to enable farmers to return to their farmlands and address the country’s growing food insecurity.
Arc Ifeanyi Odedo, the National President of FGBMFI-NG, made this appeal during a pre-convention briefing for the Fellowship’s 2024 Abuja National Convention, which will be held from September 5 to September 7, 2024, in Abuja.
“We continue to express concern over the challenge of food insecurity in Nigeria, which is largely caused by the increasing incidents of kidnappings and banditry across the country,” Odedo stated. He emphasized that decisive action to curb these threats, as directed by the President, would allow farmers to return to their farms, reduce the current hardship, restore peace, and significantly help revive the nation’s economy.
