Many could not hold back tears on Saturday at the burial ceremonies in Abuja of all the 11 victims of military plane that crashed in Kaduna on Friday.
Wives and relations of the victims wept uncontrollably just as friends and colleagues of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahir, and other dead officers were also moved to tears at different stages of the burial proceedings held at the National Mosque and the Protestant Church, Air Force Base Abuja.
It was also a sombre moment at the National Mosque Abuja where the bodies of General Attahiru and other Muslims were moved to.
Janazah prayer was also held for Muslim officers at the mosque.
The funeral here was for six officers. They are Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru; Brig Gen Mi Abdulkadir; Brig Gen Kuliya; Maj La Hayat; Maj Hamza; Sgt Umar.
The caskets of five officers, who were all Christians were brought to the church.
They were Brigadier General Olayinka and all the crew members, FLT LT T.O Asaniyi, FLT LT Alfred Olufade, SGT Adesina, and ACM Oyedepo.
The solemn service began with an opening prayer by the presiding priest, Reverend Group Captain Dogo Gani, Director of Chaplaincy NAF headquarters.
All the dead officers were interred at the National Cemetery in Abuja.
