Teenager kidnaps two- year-old child in Sokoto
The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old kidnapping suspect, Abba Aliyu, over the kidnap of Sa’idu Ibrahim.
The arrest follows a report filed by Ibrahim Shehu on October 16, 2024, stating that his two-year-old son, Saidu Ibrahim, had gone missing three days prior.
In a statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, ASP Rufa’e Abubakar, the police said the kidnapper demanded a ransom of N2 million, later reducing it to N500,000, which was paid before the child’s release.

According to the statement, the Police detectives tracked the suspect to Badon Hanya, behind Zamson Filling Station in Sokoto, and recovered a Tecno Android mobile phone used to demand the ransom.
The suspect confessed to kidnapping the child to extort money from the family who are his neighbours in the Badon Hanya area of Sokoto.
