Tension in Imo supplementary poll as thugs snatch ballot box
Five armed thugs on Saturday disrupted the supplementary election in Imo State snatching a ballot box.
The hoodlums reportedly invaded the polling units at Umuarusi Amandugba hall in the Isu Local Government Area around 9.19am and caused panic among voters in the presence of security men.
A Vanguard reporter at the scene voters expressed fears over the armoured vehicle patrolling the area before the snatching of the ballot box.
Amid tension, many people had turned out of for the elections conducted in Mbaitoli /Ikeduru Federal Constituency election and three state constituencies of Isu, Ahiazu Mbaise and Ideato South.
The candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Akarachi Amadi; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osmond Ukanacho and the Labour Party (LP), Uche Ogbuagu, are the three major contenders for the Mbaitoli /Ikeduru Federal Constituency election.
